Tri-Center to host fall season home openers this week; reminders on good conduct for supporters and fans

posted Aug 30, 2018, 5:45 AM by TC Administrator

Come out and cheer on your Trojans!

JV Volleyball Tournament - Thursday, August 30th at 5:00

Varsity Football vs MVAOCOU - Friday, August 31st 7:00

A few reminders:

In an effort to maintain a SAFE environment so that ALL fans can enjoy the game, the Tri-Center Community School District is asking parents to please help us in our effort by reviewing these expectations before attending a game:
  • PK-7 students should be accompanied by an adult
  • Students are encouraged to sit in the bleachers with their peers or with their parents.  This is a great opportunity to spend time with family or friends cheering on the Trojans and learning about the sport.
  • Please keep children out of the area beneath the bleachers.
  • Please refrain from bringing footballs, soccer balls, etc.  These create hazards for all fans.  If students would like to gather outside the bleachers at football games, we would ask them to do so at the south end of the bleachers.  We would also ask parents to supervise their children closely to minimize roughhousing that could result in injury.
  • Please do not allow children to roam the football complex or buildings or play unsupervised in the cafetorium during indoor events.
  • Always exhibit good sportsmanship.
  • Be respectful of all players, officials, and fans
  • All Tri-Center facilities and parking lots are smoke-free (including vapor and e-cigarettes), alcohol-free, and drug-free.
We look forward to seeing you at T-C to cheer on the Trojans!

IMPACT Testing will take place for student athletes during Registration on August 6th from 1 to 5 PM

posted Aug 3, 2018, 9:56 AM by TC Administrator

Tri-Center High School is working with Jennie Ed Sports Med to implement an innovative concussion management program called ImPACT for T-C student-athletes. ImPACT (Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing) is a computerized exam utilized in many professional, collegiate, and high school sports programs across the country to successfully diagnose and manage concussions. If an athlete is believed to have suffered a head injury during competition, ImPACT is used to help determine the severity of the head injury and when the injury is fully healed.

The computerized exam is given to athletes before practices or competitions begin to establish baseline data.  We will be administering the baseline test at the following time in the Family and Consumer Science room:

August 6th 1:00-5:00

The non-invasive test is set up in “video-game” format and takes about 30 minutes to complete. Essentially, the ImPACT test is a preseason physical for the brain.  It tracks information such as memory, reaction time, and concentration.  It is not an IQ test.  All test information is confidential and will be stored in a secured computer file. There is no cost to the parents/guardians for their child’s baseline test.  Students are tested every other year so those tested during the 2017-2018 school year do NOT need to be tested this year.

Students must bring a signed consent form in order to be tested.

Please contact Cassie Harris at charris@tctrojans.org with questions.
