The Foundation announced its plans earlier this year to offer one-time renewable scholarships to qualifying students for their second year of post-secondary education.  The criteria for the renewable scholarship is:

  • Full-Time Student (12 or more hours)
  • 3.0 GPA – or 75th percentile of their class for the 2nd semester of Freshman year
  • A transcript sent to us from their college, university or trade school showing this information.
  • Application completed by the student and mailed to our PO Box by June 15, 2019. The application would contain their name, mailing address, email address and school they are attending, and possibly other information.  It will be their responsibility to see that their school mails the transcript to us and that they mail their application to us.  We would notify recipients by July 15 if they have qualified for the renewable scholarship.
  • The scholarship value will be determined at the time of adjudication of the renewable scholarship applications and will be between $500.00 to $1,000.00.

The Eric Benning Memorial Scholarship was also awarded during the ceremony to Tobi Brich.   The Eric Benning Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a qualifying Tri-Center graduate from funds gifted to Tri-Center Scholarship Foundation, Inc. from the late Betty Baldwin’s Estate. Betty was one of the founding members of Tri-Center Scholarship Foundation, Inc.’s predecessor chapter and a long-time supporter and contributor. Applicants for the Eric Benning Memorial Scholarship are judged on criteria established by Betty’s will, with the award given to the student who displayed high academic achievement and character, but because of financial hardship, had the least hope of attending college or technical/trade school.
