Six students from Tri-Center Elementary had their art chosen for a juried art show held by the Art Educators of Iowa at the State Historical Museum in Des Moines. The show will be on display during the Month of March for Youth Art Month with a special reception held on March 7. The five students who had their work selected for the YAM show are Revin Bruck (4), Miranda Ring (5), Lucy Elesner (1), Jasmine Saathoff (2), and Hannah Wulff (4). Jaden Franke (4) had her work chosen for the Governor's show which will be on display in the Governor's office at the state capital after the opening reception. Governor's show winners also have a special reception with the Governor and can choose to tour the Iowa State Capital. Each Teacher can submit 10 pieces per district. This year 56 teachers submitted over 500 pieces of art to be juried. 181 were selected for YAM, with 15 pulled from that group for the Governor's show to be exhibited at the state capital, one each from HS, MS, and Elem. for Sargent Art winners who will receive prizes from Sargent Art, and 5 to Send for display at the National Art Educator's Convention in New Orleans. Tri-Center students are taught by Liz Lyons. YAM artworks will be published on artsonia.com to share with parents and community members who would like to see them.
