On April 15, 2015 Tri-Center Middle School was overrun by 20 middle school teams ready to battle for the Ultimate Champions Title. Over 120 participants took their places in the middle school gym to begin a day of battling their knowledge of books and authors from the required reading list. Three rounds of questions and a tie breaking round later, the title of Ultimate Champion went to team L.A.M.O. from Lamoni, 2nd place team, Insert Name Here from Underwood, 3rd place was awarded to Awesome Sauce from Boyer Valley with the 4th place winners, Challengers from Nodaway Valley. Two teams making it to the Ultimate Battle represented Tri-Center: Loading… and Book Hunters. We had a total of 48 students among 9 teams battling for a seat to represent Tri-Center in the Ultimate Battle. This was our biggest year since we started this program. We had 68 teams representing 19 Southwest Iowa School Districts all trying to take their team to the Ultimate Battle. This is our fifth year sponsoring this program, and we have seen it grow significantly each year. Our first year consisted of two teams battling for the Ultimate Battle Title, one from Tri-Center and the other from Saint Albert.
