There is a new Meningococcal Vaccine Secondary School Requirement. While you are scheduling your child's physicals, we wanted to make sure you are aware of this new requirement. The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH), Bureau of Immunization, has completed the administrative rule making process to require meningococcal vaccine for students enrolling in 7th and 12th grades. In addition, 7th graders are also required to have proof of the Tetanus Booster. The administrative rule change was effective January 11, 2017, and will be implemented at the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year. Students will NOT be allowed to attend on the first day without proof of this requirement. Please send your updated immunization record to the school ASAP. Please see http://www.idph.iowa.gov/immtb/immunization/laws for more information. There is a question/answer section that is helpful. If you have questions, please call Jen McGee at 712-485-2271 or email her at jmcgee@tctrojans.org. Thank you! |
